Important Announcements:

  • Shared Home Communion for Feast of St. Luke’s
Our patronal feast day, the Feast of St. Luke, is coming up on Sunday, 10/18. We are going to celebrate by trying something new: Shared Home Communion. Bishop Megan recently approved this new way of sharing the Holy Eucharist safely. This will involve consecrating Communion wafers (we aren’t going to try bread at first) in advance, and distributing them to you by drive-through pick-up and/or home delivery. Then, we’ll all consume our consecrated wafers at the same time during a live-streamed Holy Eucharist. We are still working out the many logistical challenges of this experiment, we’ll have further information for you next week.
What you can do now is prepare a sacred place in your home, an altar, where you can keep your consecrated bread, the Body of Christ, in reverence between the time you pick it up and the Sunday morning shared home Communion service on Zoom. A cloth underlay, a candle, and flowers are all good ideas. If you are willing to share a photo of your altar, we’d love to see it!
