St. Luke’s is on the road to calling a new rector. Here are the steps in the process:
April – Appointment of an Interim
Notes: Our interim appointment was put on temporary hold due to pandemic conditions, but as of June, our vestry is actively communicating with the diocese to get an interim appointment as soon as possible
August/September – Listening Sessions
We are pleased to announce that Rev. Anne Clark has agreed facilitate our listening sessions for us. Check back here for exact dates and sign-ups. In our listening sessions, we will discern who we are as congregation, where we are feeling called to grow, and what skills we might be looking for in a new rector to help us get there.Notes: Due to COVID-19 we are unsure if we will be able to have our listening sessions in person. Our working alternative plan is a two-fold approach:
- We will do large gathering zoom meetings with a similar structure our previous discernment meetings for those comfortable with Zoom
- If video conferencing is not your preferred method of communication, you can signup for a phone interview. A member of the Profile Committee will call you and interview you personally on the telephone to discuss all the same issues we discuss in the Zoom meetings.
We hope in this way to hear from everyone in the congregation.
October – Profile Formation
Our profile committee will take notes from all the listening sessions and interviews and form a draft of our profile. Our profile document serves as our introduction to clergy interested in the position. The vestry then works with the diocese to finalize our profile.
October – Rector Position Posted
Our rector position will be posted on the diocesan website.
November – Application Reviews and Interviews
Applications will be received by the diocese and screened by the Search Committee. The Search Committee will conduct interviews with the candidates.
December – Finalists Submitted to the Vestry
The Vestry will interview the finalists and offer a position to the best candidate.
And soon thereafter… Welcoming!
We welcome a new rector to St. Lukes!
