Daughters of the King met on 4-11-2020 using the remote Zoom format. It was a healing time for all because it provided an opportunity to receive support from each other. The class for our new members also began that date. We pray that we will not need to meet using a remote connection in May, but we are prepared to continue.
Personal Care Pantry– at this point we are not sure how the Pantry will be operated in May. We are talking about options to provide this much needed service to the community. One thing that is definite at this point- St Luke’s Episcopal Church has been asked to provide toothpaste for the next pantry. Anyone wishing to donate can contact the church and we will arrange for pick up.
Resource Navigators also met remotely on 4-6-2020. We had a speaker from Yolo Transit. She provided a tremendous amount of information. In particular, she talked about the Care Car in Woodland. The service has been shut down due to the COVID-19 shelter in place. In the interim, Yolo Paratransit is stepping in to provide this vital in service. I am attaching the piece from their website that explains the process.
During the pandemic, Yolobus Special paratransit services has stepped up to temporarily provide rides to seniors who were using Woodland’s Community Care Car, a non-profit transportation provider, which is not operating at this moment due to COVID-19. Service to seniors within Woodland will be provided for essential trips on a space-available basis. Woodland seniors are encouraged to call (530) 666-2877 for more information and to request transportation services.
