Lectors and Intercessors

Lectors

Lectors are lay people who read the lesson (Old and New Testament) at the Sunday services and at other services during the week.  Schedules are sent out monthly with a copy of the assigned reading.  Minimal training is required.  One meeting per year is required for “continuing education.” This is a wonderful opportunity for lay people to participate in the worship service. Intercessors

Intercessors are lay people who lead the Prayers of the People at the Sunday services.  The Prayers of the People are just that: our intercessions offered to God for all of God’s creation from our local church family to the state of the world and everything in between. Because these are the prayers of the people, it is right that they are led by the people. There is a training meeting once a year.  Preparation involves reviewing the Prayers and the prayer list a few minutes before the service. For more information, please contact The Rev. Terri Hobart
